Kosen Rufu Day message from Sensei

My Youth Division members of SGI-Europe whom I love and respect, many
congratulations on holding the commemorative gathering marking the anniversary of
March the 16th, Kosen-rufu Day.

I know very well how you are holding dialogues in your daily life, unstintingly sharing warm
encouragement with the people around you to bring happiness to your friends and to lead
your fellow members to achieve victories. Thank you so much for your great efforts.

I also heard that it was thanks to your tireless struggles and dedication that SGI-Europe
was able to achieve the solidarity of peace and justice of 110,000 strong at the end of last
year. I am truly delighted. How my mentor, Josei Toda, would have rejoiced to see your
valiant endeavours.

Nichiren Daishonin declares:

“The sole reason for the Buddha’s advent in this world was to bring salvation to
living beings” (WND-2, 391)

The fundamental purpose of Buddhism is to bring happiness to all people and to lead our
society to peace and security.

I was entrusted with this noble and momentous baton of “kosen-rufu” by my mentor in my
youth. Now, it is my turn to bequeath this baton to the members of the Youth Division,
whom I wholeheartedly trust.

Please keep this “spiritual baton” burning bright in your hearts for the rest of your life and
majestically pave the path of friendship and happiness for the prosperity of your continent.

In any case, there is no deadlock in Buddhism. Therefore, you should not be afraid of
anything. Adversities or hardships are golden opportunities to change your karma. In
light of the Daishonin’s teachings, there is no doubt that all the benevolent forces of
the universe will firmly and unstintingly protect all of you, who are nobly dedicating your
precious lives to kosen-rufu.

Together, let’s please continue to advance cheerfully and joyfully, warmly encourage one
another, triumph and open a life of eternal hope!

My wife and I are praying sincerely for your good health and increasing prosperity for your
families every day, and I am eternally watching over you and all of your endeavours.

My beloved members of the Youth Division members of SGI-Europe, may glory and victory
shine upon you!
